Iyengar yoga
Iyengar yoga is a disciplined approach to traditional hatha yoga which focusses on strict alignment of the physical body.
Practitioners often make use of physical props such as blocks, belts and bolsters to enable correct access to postures.
It is a classical approach to yoga based on the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
Iyengar sessions emphasise precision with the teacher actively verbally correcting misalignments.
