Yogasara: discover the essence of yoga in the heart of Bristol

Sessions and classes for the first half of 2010 at Yogasara are now confirmed, along with new weekend workshops and Yogasara’s first advanced yoga teacher training course.

Midwinter 2009

Most weekly classes continue in their regular slots from the first or second week of January and run until the end of July. Please refer to the Yogasara calendar for details.

We are particularly pleased to welcome back brothers Dan and Jon Lee for their second terms at Yogasara. Dan teaches Taijiwuxigong (Chi Kung) for health and happiness on Monday evenings and Jon offers a drop-in Acupuncture, Tui Na and Qi Gong clinic on Friday afternoons with fees negotiable according to personal circumstances.

Otherwise, Yogasara’s resident teachers continue to offer astanga, Iyengar, hatha, kundalini and pregnancy yoga sessions in abundance. Please follow the links for more details.

Metamorphosis 2: The Inner Mandala

We are also pleased to announce a second Metamorphosis weekend workshop with Chris Gladwell, Juan Gabriel Gutierrez and Sarah Harlow which will take place at 10.00am-5.00pm Saturday 30 and Sunday 31 January.

Metamorphosis 2

The weekend will explore the contents and context of mind and feeling, making our relationship with these intimate and important aspects of our experience available for transformation.

As we engage with this mandala we begin to liberate our deeper nature from fixation to discover the relationship between attachment, thinking, feeling and our core life energy.

Metamorphosis offers a complete transformation at the seat of consciousness. The view moves from limited self and its neurotic dance of separation towards the vastness of truth. The practices support this insight and the sublime presence as essence that is the goal.

All are welcome. Please bring any refreshments you may need.

£60 for the weekend. Pre-book if possible: please contact the studio for more details.

Advanced Teacher Training and Immersion Course

Chris Gladwell will be leading a new advanced teacher training course at Yogasara, which will run for just over two years, beginning in June 2010.

Immersion

The course will meet approximately one full weekend per month with two one week retreats at the beginning and middle of the course and a one month retreat, possibly in India, at the end of the course.

There will be a maximum of 24 students supervised by four main tutors, with occasional guest tutors enhancing already excellent teacher-student ratios.

The course is focussed on quality time for cultivation of personal practice in all the paths of yogic exploration.

Profound experience of yogic technique will be balanced with applied philosophy from Yoga, Buddhism, Taoism and contemporary sources such as Ken Wilber.

All aspects of practice are taught including hands-on adjustment, yogic dance and integrating yoga for pregnancy into classes as well as there being plenty of practice space to cultivate your teaching skills.

More than 1000 contact hours and a total of 4000 hours of personal study and practice mean this immersion will take you deep.

The average yoga teacher working in Britain has only done around 200-500 hours of training: this immersion course offers an immensely richer and more rewarding journey to true yogic mastery.

If you would like to be part of this exciting opportunity then please get in touch with the studio or call Chris Gladwell direct on 07786 928458.
