FAQs
Can I book on to a class?
Yes! You can book classes through our timetable. We offer concession prices and also the option to purchase a 5 or 10 class pass – see here for details.
If you need help with using the booking system, please view our booking system FAQs here.
What if I can’t make my booking?
If you have booked a class and can no longer attend, you can cancel for a full refund up to three hours before the class starts.
How do I enter the studio for my first class?
Please arrive 5–10 minutes before class and use the green door at number 12 Picton Street, next to the Yogasara studio sign. Knock if the door is not already open. If you arrive after class has started, knock and the teacher will let you in when they can.
What should I wear?
Wear something comfortable that you can move easily in, leggings/loose trousers and a t-shirt or vest top will be absolutely fine and we practice in bare feet.
Do I need to bring my own mat to the studio?
Manduka Pro mats and all the equipment you need are provided at the studio, you just need to bring yourself!
Do you have a changing room/toilets?
Yes we have a changing area with a small changing room which offers privacy. There are two toilets, through the side door to the studio and just outside the back door.
I am new to yoga, which classes would be suitable for me?
Our weekly classes are mixed level, some more dynamic than others. We’ve prepared a guide to help you in your choice here.
We encourage you to drop into a few classes and get a sense of what works for you. Please feel free to contact the teacher before you attend if you’re not sure on the suitability of the class.
All our teachers offer appropriate modifications for beginners, and you are very welcome to take breaks when you need to and go at your own pace. It’s always worth letting the teacher know when you arrive that you’re a beginner, don’t worry you won’t be singled out, it’s just useful for the teacher to know.
What if I have an injury?
If you have an injury, health concern or back problems, yoga can help! Please let the teacher know when you arrive and they can ensure that appropriate modifications are provided. If you’re not sure on the suitability of the class then please get in touch with the teacher before you attend and they will be happy to talk this through with you.
Personal belongings
Please minimise the amount of belongings you bring to the space. Please turn off your phone or place on silent. Any belongings left in the foyer are left at your own risk, however the front door will always be locked during classes. If you do leave anything at the studio, please let us know within a month so that we can hold on to it for you. We donate unclaimed items to charity each month.
Where can I park my car?
The nearest street parking (within a few mins walk) is on Picton Street, York Road and Wellington Avenue with a 3 hour max stay, this is on the meter Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm. It is usually possible to get a parking space on these streets.
There are usually some free spaces on Arley Hill and Sydenham Road.
The nearest car park that has no limit on the time you can stay is St James Barton (approx. 11 mins walk away).
Where can I park my bike?
There is bike parking in our garden (and a pond with frogs too!). To access the garden you will need the back gate code – please ask a teacher when you come for the first time and they will be happy to provide this to you.
How do I get to you by public transport?
Buses run up and down Stokes Croft / Cheltenham Rd, which is two mins walk away, and Montpelier train station is 5 mins walk away.
