Much of Elena’s life has been spent training in the creative body. Diverse years studying movement, performance, opera and visual arts furthering her fascination with the body’s ability to creatively express, and yoga being elemental in that journey since she emerged jelly-kneed from an Iyengar class in her teens.
Her practice and teaching incorporates flowing movement, philosophical teachings & playful proprioception work, combining studies in anatomy and experience curating contemporary sacred space. As a grubby child with adventurous parents who loved to travel she became and continues to be much inspired by nature, how the elements weave their ways through our bodies and practice enlivens our awareness of them. She’s interested in how this enriches our connection to the world around us. Elena loves to chant! These often colour her classes, more modern Kirtan inspired ones and traditional Vedic ones too. As well as public classes, she teaches internationally at festivals & works within her local Bristol community to bring yoga and arts practices to more isolated groups, running AYM workshops and seasonal retreats across the UK with her teacher and friend Steve Taylor alongside that.
