Privacy Policy

Who We Are

Yogasara operates as a Community Interest Company – our commitment to serving the community as an ethical business. We take data protection seriously and we are aligned to meet the new EU laws regarding GDPR. We use data purely for our own use and to keep students informed of anything they may need or would like to know. Our privacy policy is outlined below.

Types of Data We Collect

Third Parties

In order to run our business effectively we use well-known providers who have a stringent policy when it comes to storing data. We employ third party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:

  • To facilitate our service;
  • To provide the service on our behalf;
  • To perform Service related services; or to assist us in analysing how our service is used.

They include:

  • Bookwhen – an online booking platform – click here to read their privacy statement
  • Stripe – an online payment platform for card payments – click here to read their privacy policy
  • Mailchimp – an email platform provider – click here to read their privacy policy
  • G-Suite & G-Mail – an email platform for staff members, click here to read their privacy policy

Google Analytics

When someone visits Yogasara.co.uk we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. The information is only used in a way that doesn’t identify the user. We or Google does not make any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

Account Data

In order to purchase a class, course or workshop from Yogasara online, we require your first name, last name and email address. This data is stored in your account on our management system Bookwhen.

We use this information so that we know who you are when you come to the studio and so that we can send newsletters according to your subscription preferences as outlined below. We also use this information for our own data analysis.

Billing Information

All purchases on the website are processed by Stripe who do not store your card details. Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry.

Newsletters and Promotions

You will also be given the option to sign up to the Yogasara newsletter when you make a purchase, and you can update this subscription at any time. If you subscribe to newsletters and promotions then your details will be shared with Mailchimp – see the mailing list section below for more information. In addition, you will receive automated emails from Bookwhen to confirm bookings and cancellations.

Mailing Lists

We use an email platform provider, Mailchimp, to deliver our newsletter.

We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. For more information about Mailchimp and to view their privacy policy please click here. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails.

We don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses apart from our sister company, Yogasara Training Ltd. When you sign up for our mailing list we may also share your information with Yogasara Training Ltd. You can read their privacy policy here.

How long we hold your data

We keep your data only for as long as we need it. How long we need data depends on what we are using it for, whether that is to provide services to you, for our own legitimate interests (described above) or so that we can comply with the law. We will actively review the information we hold and when there is no longer a customer, legal or business need for us to hold it, we will either delete it securely or in some cases anonymise it. These principles are extended to any third party services that we share your data with.

Your rights

You are entitled to see copies of all personal data held by us and to amend, correct or delete such data. You can also limit, restrict or object to the processing of your data.

If you gave us your consent to use your data, e.g. so that we can send you a newsletter, you can withdraw your consent.

To raise any objections or to exercise any of your rights, you can send an email to us at info@yogasara.co.uk. When you get in touch, we will come back to you as soon as possible and where possible within one week. We may also ask you to verify your identity before we provide any information to you.

If Yogasara decides to change this privacy policy, the changes will be posted on this page.

Concerns or complaints

If you have any complaints concerning Yogasara’s processing of your personal data please email us at info@yogasara.co.uk. Please note that you have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority which is responsible for the protection of personal data in the country where you live or work, or in which you think a breach of data protection laws might have taken place.
