Who We Are
Types of Data We Collect
In order to run our business effectively we use well-known providers who have a stringent policy when it comes to storing data. We employ third party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:
- To facilitate our service;
- To provide the service on our behalf;
- To perform Service related services; or to assist us in analysing how our service is used.
- Bookwhen – an online booking platform – click here to read their privacy statement
When someone visits Yogasara.co.uk we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. The information is only used in a way that doesn’t identify the user. We or Google does not make any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.
In order to purchase a class, course or workshop from Yogasara online, we require your first name, last name and email address. This data is stored in your account on our management system Bookwhen.
We use this information so that we know who you are when you come to the studio and so that we can send newsletters according to your subscription preferences as outlined below. We also use this information for our own data analysis.
All purchases on the website are processed by Stripe who do not store your card details. Stripe has been audited by a PCI-certified auditor and is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1. This is the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry.
Newsletters and Promotions
You will also be given the option to sign up to the Yogasara newsletter when you make a purchase, and you can update this subscription at any time. If you subscribe to newsletters and promotions then your details will be shared with Mailchimp – see the mailing list section below for more information. In addition, you will receive automated emails from Bookwhen to confirm bookings and cancellations.
We use an email platform provider, Mailchimp, to deliver our newsletter.
How long we hold your data
We keep your data only for as long as we need it. How long we need data depends on what we are using it for, whether that is to provide services to you, for our own legitimate interests (described above) or so that we can comply with the law. We will actively review the information we hold and when there is no longer a customer, legal or business need for us to hold it, we will either delete it securely or in some cases anonymise it. These principles are extended to any third party services that we share your data with.
You are entitled to see copies of all personal data held by us and to amend, correct or delete such data. You can also limit, restrict or object to the processing of your data.
If you gave us your consent to use your data, e.g. so that we can send you a newsletter, you can withdraw your consent.
To raise any objections or to exercise any of your rights, you can send an email to us at email@example.com. When you get in touch, we will come back to you as soon as possible and where possible within one week. We may also ask you to verify your identity before we provide any information to you.
Concerns or complaints
If you have any complaints concerning Yogasara’s processing of your personal data please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that you have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority which is responsible for the protection of personal data in the country where you live or work, or in which you think a breach of data protection laws might have taken place.
