Dr. Taryn Talbott
Chartered Clinical Psychologist. I support people with their mental health and emotional wellbeing
I believe that mental health difficulties do not discriminate. We can all struggle with our mental health and wellbeing at times, and can all benefit from extra support during difficult stages of our lives. I understand how difficult it can be to reach out for support when you are experiencing difficulties with your mental health, or looking to improve your emotional wellbeing. It is important to find someone that you feel able to build a trusting relationship with so that you can feel as comfortable as possible during the work you do together.
I offer people support with their mental health and emotional wellbeing using tried and tested psychological therapy approaches. I believe that psychological therapy works best when we create a partnership to help you manage the challenges you are facing. I believe that you have knowledge and expertise about yourself and your life and I have specialist psychological knowledge and experience of supporting people with challenges such as stress, depression or anxiety. When we work together we combine our knowledge and expertise to help you overcome the challenges you are facing.
Psychological therapy can be useful for anyone looking to improve their emotional wellbeing or develop a better understanding of themselves and why they respond the way they do in different situations. I can support you to develop your confidence, reduce the impact phobias have on your life, or learn how to manage anger differently. I can provide counselling to help you at difficult times in your life, such as after bereavement.
I have experience supporting people with difficult relationships with food and eating disorders. I have a specialist interest and experience of working with people with a range of neurological conditions including stroke, brain injuries and dementia. My work in this area often focuses on helping people, and their loved ones, to adjust to the impact of these conditions on their lives and live well with these conditions.
Please contact me if there is something you would like support with that is not mentioned above as I may be able to support you with this.
I hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology*. This means I am trained and experienced in using many different therapeutic approaches. I can select the most appropriate approach to support you with the difficulties you are facing, and can combine different approaches to offer you bespoke support.
I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council and am a Chartered member of the British Psychological Society. I follow their codes of ethics and conduct to ensure you receive safe and effective support. I have an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service certificate.
