Ronda Embick

HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist | Compassion Focused Therapy | Optional Yoga Integration

My Approach

I’m Ronda Embick, a HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist. I offer therapy as a space to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what matters. This might mean moving towards change, clarity, or simply finding room to breathe.

My work begins with assessment and formulation. A formulation is like a map. It helps us make sense of what’s happening, exploring your story and guiding our work together. I hold a deep respect for people’s experiences and am drawn to approaches that explore them with care and curiosity. I draw on a range of evidence-based therapies and particularly enjoy working with Compassion-Focused Therapy, which encourages a kinder relationship with ourselves and those around us, useful for when we feel stuck in patterns of self-criticism or shame.

From my own experiences, I’ve come to understand how unfamiliar and uncomfortable compassion can feel at first, especially when it hasn’t always been part of our lives or when our early experiences have made it hard to access. That’s why I value creating spaces where people can gently explore what gets in the way and begin to meet themselves with more warmth, understanding, and courage.

Integrating Yoga

In addition to my doctorate, I completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training course. Yoga philosophy and movement can add something valuable to psychology, offering meaningful ways to explore our connection with body, breath, mind and the world. When someone expresses an interest in this, I can integrate movement, breathwork and philosophy into our sessions.

Flexible Options

Regular weekly therapy is available, but I also appreciate that weekly therapy isn’t for everyone. I offer one-off assessment and formulation sessions, as well as targeted, goal-focused plans with check-ins ranging from weekly to monthly. This can be a more affordable alternative while maintaining accountability.

Finding the right therapist is important, so I offer a free 20-minute consultation.
