Ayurveda – A Science of Life
With many of today’s morbidity and mortality rates being caused by lifestyle-related chronic diseases, it’s never been a more important time to take control of your health and make lasting changes to positively impact your well-being.
As a science of life and the world’s oldest medical system, Ayurveda has a holistic approach to health and disease that focuses on preserving and promoting good health and preventing disease through healthy lifestyle practices.
Ayurveda uses many tools to correct imbalances at the root, the main ones being: diet, lifestyle, herbs, massage, and detoxification treatments.
But most importantly, it teaches us to listen to our bodies when it whispers, not when it shouts.
What can Ayurveda treat?
Ayurveda effectively treats countless conditions, but it is particularly effective in treating:
Digestive disorders: Indigestion (gas, bloating, constipation, diarrhea), IBS, heartburn/hyperacidity, stomach ulcers, Crohn’s, ulcerative colitis, piles/hemorrhoids
Skin disorders: Eczema, rosacea, acne, psoriasis, hives
Women’s disorders: Dysmenorrhea (painful periods), menorrhagia (heavy/excessive bleeding), endometriosis, infertility, menopausal syndrome, PCOS, fibroids
Obesity/weight loss
Type-2 Diabetes
Rheumatoid arthritis
Osteoarthritis
Osteoporosis
Gout
Urinary tract infections
Migraines
Asthma
Chronic coughs
Mental health: Anxiety, low mood
Low energy levels/fatigue
Ayurveda works by identifying the causative factors for your health issue, making changes to your diet and lifestyle to correct the problem at the root, whilst eliminating metabolic toxins that have built up in your system to prevent the problem from returning.
If you do not have a diagnosed disorder but you’re just not feeling “right”, implementing Ayurveda can help restore balance to your system and work as a preventative health method.
Treatment
I am a fully qualified Ayurvedic Practitioner (from the Ayurveda Institute UK) and a member of the AAPUK. I also trained with James Winstanley to learn Ayurvedic Yoga Massage to Level 3.
In the initial consultation, I will assess your medical and personal history so that I can understand where an imbalance might be occurring and establish the most effective way to correct this. This consultation lasts an hour and can be conducted remotely or in person.
You will receive guidance on taking the herbal remedies, and dietary suggestions, as well as a follow-up email with any other lifestyle suggestions or recipes.
Treatment time depends on the severity of your disorder. Ayurveda is not always a “quick fix”, particularly if you have been suffering for 10+ years, although clients often start seeing positive changes after the first month (for some, within a few days).
Please get in touch to discuss the treatment plan suitable for you. For some, a package is most suitable as this includes a set amount of regular check-ins that are pre-scheduled. For others, only a couple of sessions may be necessary.
