Alicia Klages
Humanistic and Integrative Counsellor in Training
My approach is warm, thoughtful and down-to-earth. Whatever is going on for you, I offer a safe and non-judgemental space where you can feel heard and held. I am here to listen to the experiences which have led you to seek support and I do this with compassion, empathy and acceptance. My aim is for you to find relief from the distress and discomfort you may be experiencing.
The focus of my work has been to support those struggling with identity crises, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties and feelings of shame and anger. Specialised in work with LGBTQ+ clients, I offer a space to talk to someone who understands, perhaps a little bit more, drawing upon my own lived experience of being LGBTQ+. I am committed to inclusive practice and have over two years’ experience working with individuals who have experienced marginalisation. I feel strongly about improving access to counselling for neurodiverse clients and do my best to facilitate a space tailored to the individual needs of my clients.
As an integrative counsellor I draw upon a variety of counselling models to suit the uniqueness of your circumstances. I work person-centred and relational: this means that I focus on building a genuine and trusting relationship in which we can get closer to who you are rather than what you may feel is “wrong” with you.
I am currently offering low-cost individual therapy (8 sessions with the option to extend) as I am reaching the final stages of my counselling training.
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and abide by its ethical framework, including monthly supervision and continuous learning.
